Ethics StatementFrame of referenceThis Code of Ethics was developed by New Intelligence to publicise their commitment to professional conduct for the provision of training and consulting services. The code has been prepared with reference to various other official bodies and their requirements for ethical practice. As a practice, New Intelligence adheres to the Code of Conduct for Institute of Management Consultants (Australia). Statement of intentThe New Intelligence Code of Ethics is a statement of professional conduct and values, which seeks to clarify both voluntary and mandatory standards of practice within the company. It reflects the code of conduct requirements of Commonwealth and State Government Agencies which fund or regulate the provision of educational and training courses. It also reflects the requirements from both government and industry for consulting services. This statement, and the companies’ adherence to it, is designed to inspire public confidence in New Intelligence as a world-class training and consulting institution. All New Intelligence staff and contractors are required to read the code and commit to its observance in writing. Code ProvisionsGeneralPersonnel will adopt and maintain practices which ensure high professional standards in general management, marketing and the delivery of consulting, education and training services which safeguard the interests and welfare of students, clients and the public. New Intelligence will ensure the highest possible standards in the choice of staff, planning and delivery of its services. It will guarantee that consultants and trainers are suitably qualified and have relevant industry experience. The company will endeavour to maintain an environment and attitude that facilitates successful delivery of services and training and ensure adequate facilities, technology, methods and materials appropriate to the requirements and levels at which services are offered. It will monitor outcomes, deliverables and training to ensure effective delivery and continued relevance. FinancialNew Intelligence will place in trust the funds paid by clients and students in accordance with relevant legal requirements. It will properly document any contractual and financial relationships with clients and students and provide them with copies of this documentation if required. Where it is unable to provide agreed services New Intelligence will make a refund to students in accordance with relevant Commonwealth and State legislation or ensure the provision of equivalent courses or services. Personnel will at all times strive to provide value for money when quoting, developing and delivering services and training. They will record time, expenses and expenditure in all instances and select options that reflect fair value and consideration of both New Intelligence and the client’s best interests. Services ProvidedPersonnel will ensure that all students and clients are given appropriate orientation and advice and information in relation to both services and training programs. Members offering their services overseas will do so in a manner that is consistent with the educational, cultural and regulatory systems of the relevant countries. All training courses participants will be given reliable and up-to-date advice on all aspects of the programs and peripherals including accommodation, counselling, costs, meals, venues, parking, content, special issues and requirements. New Intelligence is a culturally aware organisation and as such will provide all relevant information and services relative to course placements, remedial education and welfare facilities having regard to the cultural and special needs of disabled students and clients and those from different backgrounds. Personnel will assess and monitor the progress of students and clients and ensure individualised support and counselling for those having difficulties with a course providing advice on accommodation, counselling, health and welfare services, and assistance in accessing bridging courses or additional educational support. New Intelligence will insist on the maintenance of generally accepted ethical standards in the professional and social relations between staff and students and clients. At all times, personnel will respect the confidentiality and privacy of their students and clients. The company understands that information provided for the purpose of offering and providing consulting services, training and education is confidential. It will not use or disclose this information for any other purpose except:
Personnel will assume a level of responsibility appropriate to the intelligence industry and respect information received during the course of any consulting or training, treating according to the appropriate guidelines for that client. New Intelligence will provide effective internal complaint resolution and grievance procedures to deal with students' problems and complaints. Should resolution not be forthcoming, the company agrees to enter arbitration through a third party. MarketingNew Intelligence will market their consulting and training services with integrity and accuracy, avoiding ambivalent or ambiguous descriptions of services and courses, or the qualification or capacities of their staff or those required by students to undertake their courses. They will avoid false or misleading comparisons with other consulting and training providers. The company and it personnel will assume responsibility for their own actions and those of their appointed agents for marketing services and processing applications for courses. They will ensure that their agents and partners maintain standards of behaviour and operation in relation to joint or agency activities that are consistent with this code. When offering their services overseas New Intelligence will do so in a manner that is consistent with the educational, cultural and regulatory systems of the relevant countries. Where available they will provide accurate information about, immigration and residency requirements, cost of living, health and welfare, opportunities for further study and language prerequisites for undertaking relevant courses. Obligations of PersonnelPersonnel will conduct their affairs in such a way as to ensure the best interests of both the company and the client are observed. Personnel will not engage in misleading or deceptive conduct in the provision of services. ComplaintsThe Company will adopt clearly defined procedures for dealing with complaints that involve alleged breaches of this code or any internal code. They will ensure that students and clients are aware of these procedures and, where a complaint is not able to be resolved internally, the other avenues available to them to resolve it. Members will ensure that students or clients are not penalised or victimised for pursuing a complaint in good faith. Complaints relating to an alleged breach of a provision of paragraphs of this Code may be made to the Managing Director of New Intelligence or to a member of the New Intelligence Board. DisclosureWhenever required by private or public clients and students or any other person whatsoever, personnel and the company will publicise the fact that they adhere to a Code which defines their obligations to students, clients and the public and will have copies of this Code or an equivalent internal Code available for inspection by students and other clients who ask to inspect it. LegalThe rights of the legal copyright owner will be respected. New Intelligence also recognises the rights of various groups such as Indigenous communities and individuals, who are the owners of undocumented knowledge sometimes available. Copies of material will only be provided for publication purposes if relevant compliance issues are dealt with or license fees paid. The privacy of all sources will be respected, including that of the legal copyright owner. Training materials which are publicly communicated will be accompanied by an acknowledgement of authorship and cultural ownership. Commercial Arrangements with PartnersWherever relevant, the company will disclose any commercial arrangements with partners or subsidiaries before acting on those partnerships or ownership. Where commission or benefit may be obtained by New Intelligence in respect to such partners or subsidiaries, these will also be declared prior to engagement. |
