The Role of Emotion
Many courses wrongly teach participants to remove emotion from all situations yet the latest research strongly disputes this. Emotion is a complex but pervasive issue that can influence and distort situations and relationships. It is for these reasons that emotion is the second of the core Human Skills. The emotion program will provide participants with a deeper understanding of the role of emotion, the functions and triggers for these emotions, the universality of emotion and how to successfully deal with emotion in all types of situations.
The Role of Emotion is a one day program that not only teaches participants about emotions but also tests their ability at detecting them through the use of the Micro Expression Training Tool (METT) exclusively licensed in Australia and New Zealand from the Paul Ekman Group in the United States.

Dr. David Matsumoto talks about emotions in the following videos.
What Are Microexpressions?
Microexpressions occur when people repress or conceal their emotions. Everyone has them and unlike regular facial expressions, no one can fake a microexpression. Even though they last only a fraction of a second, anyone can learn to recognise microexpressions.
Is it for you?
The seven universal emotions are just that, Universal. Microexpressions are the only non-verbal cue that has been proven to exist across all cultures.
Whilst grounded in mission critical areas such as the US Secret Service, Law Enforcement and Department of Defense, this training can help anyone who is engaged in obtaining information from others; who requires understanding of motivation, intent, truthfulness and integrity; and who has a need to detect indicators of emotion such as fear, contempt, disgust, anger, distress and surprise.
