New Intelligence is able to deliver each of the Arts and Science products at an appropriate level for the group, therefore accounting for prior knowledge and skill and providing a pathway of development.

The Art and Science of Interview

The Art and Science of Interview utilises the most up to date research and techniques available globally.  To ensure the most recent content is available within Australia, New Intelligence staff continually participate in international research groups and forums, including:

  • International Investigative Interviewing Research Group (iIIRG)
  • Investigative Interviewing Network (Australia)
  • International Interviewing Network
  • 3rd International Conference on Investigative Interviewing (iii3) (Quebec June 2008)
  • 2nd International Investigative Interviewing Conference (iii2) (Portsmouth July 2006)

The Art and Science of Interview covers just that, it provides participants in a 1, 2 or 3 day format the ability to plan for, execute and review their interviews.  The course covers contemporary research and therefore the Science aspect behind interviews as well as covering the Art, the area where good and great interviewers are separated.

The Art and Science of Negotiation

The Art and Science of Negotiation provides participants with the skills to successfully negotiate from a position of strength.  This one day program introduces various techniques and approaches used in different forms of negotiation.  Participants are introduced to the basic phases of negotiation, including:

  • Preparation (pre-negotiation)
  • Negotiation Commencement (engagement)
  • Examining alternatives and options (negotiation)
  • Closing – (agreement/retry/walk-away)
  • Implementation (action)
  • Review

The Art and Science of Analysis

The Art and Science of Analysis provides participants with the skills to successfully conduct analysis.  Whilst derived from Intelligence , the approach is transferable to all types of analysis, reviewing key areas such as:

  • Analytical tools
  • Bias and perception
  • Logic
  • Thinking traps
  • Thinking types

 The Art and Science of Analysis is conducted over 1, 3 or 5 days depending on client and organisational need.

The Art & Science of Information Elicitation

The Art and Science of Elicitation introduces participants to the process of elicitation or the art of obtaining information without using direct questioning.  Participants will not only learn how to use elicitation approaches and probes but also identify when they have become a target of elicitors. 

The Art and Science of Elicitation is conducted over 1 or 2 days depending on organisation and client need.
